NO. Symphony In The Glen is an independent nonprofit arts organization working in cooperation with the Department. Although Symphony In The Glen receives invaluable logistical support (non-monetary) from the Department, we receive no direct fiscal support from the Department. We depend upon you to help support the program.
NO. We use professional musicians (AFM) who are paid for two rehearsal sessions and the performance. All musician hiring is contracted through the Orchestra Personnel Manager.
No pets, please. Dogs are not allowed in the concert area before or during the performance time. Although dogs on leash are permitted in the park, this is a permitted special event covered by private insurance which coverage specifically prohibits the presence of dogs at the concerts. Exception is made only in the case of official assistance dogs when in the company of disabled persons.
All seating is “picnic-style” (blankets and low beach chairs) and available on a first-come first-served basis.
Children of all ages are encouraged to participate in the activities. Many children enjoy participating again and again over time and re-learning as their dexterity grows more agile with each year of life.
Symphony In The Glen works with Hope-Net, an interfaith effort to eliminate hunger and homelessness in Los Angeles by providing food, shelter and self-help assistance to families and individuals. The canned food you bring to the concert is given to the Hope-Net Food Pantry in Los Feliz. More information can be found at: http://www.hope-net.info/ |
